Originally from Brunei of Borneo Island, Fina is a semi-nomadic performer, mentor and maker who now bases herself in Koh Phangan Thailand. Fina is known for her devotion to healing, truth and awakening through ancient practices of music, womb connection and the natural way of living. Since discovering the healing power of West African Music in 2015, Fina has devoted years of study in West African harps and rhythms from Masters in Mali and Belgium.
She continues to explore with different tribal and timeless sounds and feelings that deeply connects her soul, elevates her consciousness and brings her back ‘home’. She believes in the healing magic of the Ngoni and Calabash as these instruments have healed and awakened her womb and deepened her connection with the Divine Feminine. With a decade experience of traveling to over 60 countries, Fina has been collecting stories and songs of the people and has performed all around the world on her own and with her band.
Walking this ‘jaliya’ path with gratitude, Fina is devoted to sharing the beauty of cherishing this intimate relationship within all of us – between the self and the Divine.
Coming from a lineage of Southeast islander, Fina is passionate in blending rhythms and melodies of Afrika and Nusantara, a fusion of the West and the East, weaving music of her Ancestors that runs through the body and soul, taking you on an enchanting journey of returning home.
Fina is known for being a female pioneer in the West African Music scene, having started the first Women’s Ngoni school empowering other females to discover and connect with their inner rhythms through the healing practice of Kamele Ngoni. She has also started an online Facebook community connecting all the International Ngoni and Kora Sisters together. Fina is extremely passionate about encouraging and inspiring other women to connect with their creative wisdom because our womb, our sacral chakra is where our innate strength and power lies.
