Ngoni Sound Temple

An 8-month devotion with the Kamele Ngoni; to inspire, learn and deepen.

Moma Ngoni

Dear Beautiful Soul,

I honour you for answering the call to connect with the Kamele Ngoni.

This isn’t a common path. You may have found yourself learning in fragments… following your ear, your intuition, your curiosity – piecing together a relationship with this sacred instrument in your own way..

And while there is something deeply beautiful in that… it can also feel lonely at times.

Like you are walking a path without a map.
Longing to deepen, but not always knowing how.

Longing for rhythm… for guidance… for a space to be held in your artistry.

This is why Ngoni Sound Temple exists.

I am grateful to introduce Ngoni Sound Temple- an offering that has been years in the making and springs from the dream of a focused, ongoing, and affordable environment for women to deepen their artistry with the Kamele Ngoni in a circle of support.

What makes Ngoni Sound Temple unique?

This is the only offering of its kind.

I believe that music is more than notes and rhythms; it is a journey of self-discovery and healing and a space to cultivate a deeper connection with oneself and the world surrounding us. The Ngoni Sound Temple gives space for both practical knowledge and intuitive understanding. It combines the structure of music with the free, heart-centred flow that we, as women, need, creating a rich space for exploration, creativity, and growth.

At the heart of Ngoni Sound Temple are three pillars:

Affordability and Accessibility

This space is designed so that more women can experience the deep transformation that lies within the strings of the Ngoni.

Cultural Richness

We will work with songs and rhythms from diverse traditions, each carrying its own unique medicine.

A Feminine Approach

We balance structure and flow, technique and intuition, so your artistry can blossom with your inner rhythm.

A Global Musical Journey

Over the eight months, we will explore medicine songs and rhythms from traditions all around the world:

West Africa – Honoring the roots of the Kamele Ngoni.
South America – Soulful chants that uplift the spirit.
The Middle East – Mysical melodies that carry the heart.
India – Mantras, meditative tones and sacred vibrations.
English – Medicine music.

Each song invites us to embody the stories and energies of these traditions, weaving them into our unique expression.

My sweet sisters,

Most of you already know me and have been connected to me for years, but for those who are new, hi! I’m Fina, a mother to three boys, a world musician, handicrafter, and semi-nomad from Borneo Island who is based in Thailand.

Growing up in an Asian Muslim country, much of my childhood was marked by silence and suppression. I felt disconnected from my femininity and creativity. Everything changed when I left it all behind to travel the world by hitchhiking. Although it was more of a pilgrimage to dig deep into the core of myself, I began to rediscover myself and who I truly am. This journey led me to the kamele ngoni and the West African instrument family, bringing me to Mali to learn from the masters. My path was heart-led, fueled by my love for the instrument and its power to open up my creative channel. It was truly love at first sight, and since then, the ngoni and I have been on a profound, transformational journey together.

I founded Divine Strings in 2020 during the pandemic and opened a little school at my home, where I began sharing music in small sister circles. Still a nomad at the time, it was hard to maintain a solid ngoni community, so I started sharing my music online. That’s when this beautiful online community of Ngoni sisters began to blossom.

It is my dream to introduce this instrument to as many people as possible and my passion to guide women in discovering their musical selves through the ngoni. My grand vision is to host musical retreats for women, where we can come together, share our love and passion for co-creating, and weave our heartstrings together.

I’m beyond excited to finally play with you.
